I have come to know myself as someone who loves nature, the outdoors, plants, and animals. My love for animals began early in my childhood. I grew up helping my father take care of all the strays in our area, feeding them regularly, and looking out for them. I also loved our house full of plants. I was allowed to have loads of pets, including a rescued crow, a black lizard, a dog named Ozzy, and four chicks. We had a veritable zoo in our house!
In 2011, I lost my father, and then my mother in 2019. Life changed drastically for me then. My younger sister is married but I live alone. This has been another journey that I am still figuring out, one day at a time.
One thing that keeps me grounded is being a part of a lot of Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and animal rescue groups. We work together to rescue or help every animal that is in danger or in need, trying to ensure their safety, rehabilitation, and welfare. We contribute on our own and raise funds for the cause as well.
Sometimes, we humans can be very insensitive and don’t realize that the habitat belongs to everyone equally. God made this planet for all, unfortunately, humans have forgotten that. People can lack compassion, and it’s tough sometimes to give a voice to the voiceless and selfless creatures. Hence I have a Facebook group called, “Help for the Voiceless, Be their Voice” through which we connect and coordinate for help.
There are many celebrities who are coming forward and helping support our cause but while awareness is nice, we need funds for supplies and medical care for the animals.
I joined CleverTap during the pandemic. After working with so many companies, I see CleverTap as an extension of my family. It is an employee-friendly company that supports its people inside and outside of the workplace. CleverTap also provides a healthy working environment, and amazing colleagues to interact with and learn from, and it supports my professional goals and development. The flexibility I am provided is very helpful and allows me to maintain a healthy work/life balance.
I am finally in a good space when I see people investing in each other and it helps me positively in my journey.
I truly believe “Having genuine respect and love for animals and nature makes us better humans.” Live & Let Live should be everyone’s motto! The world will automatically be a better place to live in.
