Multiple Segments all in a single campaign!

In my last article, I had written about the psyche behind In-action campaigns and how one should schedule it. 

In today’s article, I shall share a story of how we used to execute multiple campaigns effortlessly within a single campaign.

Let’s consider couple of use-cases:-

For an Entertainment platform, you have a show releasing in 6 languages and want to communicate about its launch.

For an E-commerce vertical, you have different customer types and want to communicate different offers as per their loyalty.

For a Gifting platform, you wish to promote festive gifts as per their spending preferences.

We shall handle all these use-cases with 1 user property which shall act as a flag for the different segmentation. So the above use-cases, would have these user properties appended:-
For an Entertainment platform, the user property would be Preferred Language where values could be English, Korean, Hindi, etc.

For an E-commerce vertical, the user property for this would be Customer Type where values could be: Champions, Loyalists, Potential Loyalists, New, Hibernating, At Risk, etc.

For a Gifting platform, the user property for this would be Preferred Gifting Category where values could be: Home Decor, Gifting Combos, Electronics, Books, Clothes, etc.

Now that we have the User Properties in place, while creating a campaign, you can go to the What Section and choose Split by User Property > and choose the User Property which stores your audience’s preference.

slide Post which, you’ll get the Default variant which shall act as a fallback to the users who have the values missing for that particular User Property. Here’s a small GIF showing different copies for different variants:-
