Being a customer success manager, I get the privilege to talk with many of you, to solve your interesting use-cases and to collectively find hacks to increase retention of your users. However, I’ve noticed that many customers only stick to Past Behaviour campaigns, or Journeys and seldom explore/run real-time campaigns.
If you’ve read my earlier newsletters, you’d know that I’ve spoken about DateTime campaigns or In-action campaigns and how powerfully effective they can be, similarly today I’ll be talking about one such type of campaign, perhaps one of low-hanging fruits when it comes to real-time campaigns i.e. Action campaigns.
Action campaigns as the name suggests, are triggered based on a certain action done i.e. when an event is triggered. This simple campaign type can help you automate multiple use-cases, let me list those below:-
For example, in an E-commerce vertical, I can choose to run a discount campaign as soon as a user adds a certain product to a wishlist. In an Fintech vertical, I can choose to congratulate a user who successfully completed his KYC or does a end goal with one of the instruments available on my platform.
In an OTT space, I can choose to recommend different shows/ movies based on what the user has rated for a particular show.
It can be furthermore used to nudge a NPS Survey or one can even utilize this opportunity to gather feedback from their users post any transaction/goal event done.
Taking one such example, let me share a tutorial of how you can leverage this campaign type:- Use-Case: To promote the latest children’s movie which is now streaming on our OTT Channel via a Push notification, for a duration of 2 weeks.
Solution:-
Step 1: Start a Push Notification campaign > Choose ‘Live Behavior’ as the Qualification criteria
Step 2: In the Who section, I’m going to select Action: New Segment. I’m going to choose Category Clicked as an event, and the event property of Category as I want the categories to be Kid Animation, and Comedy.
Going to add a relevant copy via the What section, and going to choose 2 weeks from now on as the End date in the When section.
P.S: I’m going to choose to delay this notification by 3 hours post them clicking on Category Clicked.
Voila! Now your campaign is done and all set to be published 😊
