Web Pop-ups as the name suggests are pop-ups which can be run to educate/ inform users about relevant information like discounts/ upcoming events/ or even a probable downtime in future. Since these notifications are real-time in nature, you can choose to run it specifically on some pages or even throughout your website.
I remember first using CleverTap at Pricebaba.com which is an online price comparison website for different gadgets. We realized that while buying a phone, users usually came with a certain budget in mind and to cater to that requirement we began with price lists catering to a certain price range like “Phone under 15,000”, “Phones under 25,000”, etc. Now, in order to give visibility to these pricelists, we chose to run a Web Pop-up on the top phones in that budget asking them to look at the other alternatives i.e. if a user is looking at Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Max which is priced approximately under 16,000, we then show him a price list of phones under 20,000 rupees.
We did that by running a Web Pop-up on an Action segment of ‘Mobile Phone Page Viewed’ and the price being in between 15,000-20,000.
These helped us navigate the customers to precisely what they were looking for. Going ahead, we built different price lists focussing on the most sought after features like camera, high processor for gaming, 5G, etc.
We then chose to run these price lists to people post their 5th page view in the session, as these customers could be still in exploratory phases and looking forward to exploring more.
You can also choose to run these Web Pop-ups when a person visits from a referral URL.
Also, I have only spoken about the Text based Web pop-ups in this newsletter, but you can access our system templates and you can choose to run Interstitials, Banner, NPS, with Image and even Image only notifications. Do give it a try!
Before we wrap it up, do make sure the campaign limits are in place for the channel of Web Pop-up notifications. I’m choosing to allow 3 per session and in total around 6 per day. Make sure you set these before to avoid your campaigns falling in errors/ spamming users.
I hope this newsletter has been helpful for you, do give it a try and shoot me a reply if you have any doubts/ questions while executing a campaign.
